New York reports betting record in September 2025. Sports Betting came in at a second highest ever result for the month of September. USD$2.29bn in revenue were raked in by retail sports betting operators such as Fanatics, DraftKings and FanDuel. This result comes after last years record in October 2024, when revenue came in at USD$2.32bn. 

Commercial gaming such as sweepstakes have underperformed in September 2025, although month on month the figures can still hold on a positive 2.9%. Sweepstake casinos and New Yorks operators are under fire from regulators to curb on sweepstakes. 

Mobile sports betting is with the well known operators again on a path to success, and its a matter of time when fanatics is moving up the ladder. So far, FanDuel and DraftKings are making the top spots but a fierce competition amongst mobile bettors is raging. 

Which mobile betting operator is the biggest retail betting operator in New York

FanDuel and DraftKings are the sharing the two top spots in New York. Fanatics is growing faster then all their competitors but have not threatened the number 2 or top spot yet. Caesars in fourth place, BEtMGM in 5th place followed by ESPN BET. RSI and Ballys have shown their talent to wedge in and have their small share of the cake.

Why are the results in New York so important?

The results are important for two reasons. The taxable GGR is a welcomed addition and part of a red hot household debate. Recent events have also shown stronger resistance towards sweepstake casinos and gambling. With states like Califonia announcing a full stop on sweepstake promotions with monetary value in social casinos.

What's next for Sports betting in the US?

In general year on year, both, draftKings and Fanduel are with a decline in GGR of nearly 20% in the books.
