Caixa Bank launches Betting Platform
Caixa publized the launch for November 2025 after the announcement was made to drop the raise in taxes in GGR. Brazils state owned bank Caixa Economic Federal will benefit from this move and is expected to to rake in USD$700 Million in Revenue alone.
Only as recent as October 2025, Brazil backed down on a proposed retractive taxation on Revenue dating back to 2014. The plan was to retract taxes on GGR from 2014 to 2024 at a rate of 18% from 15%. The move however fell short of votes.

Sports Betting in Brazil
Sports Betting in Brazil is regulated, and a fixed-odds betting law was signed only in December 2023. That bill then came to force January 1st 2025 closing the doors for many operators and advertisers. Companies and operators must now obtain a licence from the SPA,Secretariat of Prizes and Bets. The Licence is not cheap. R$30 Million ( 4.7 Million Eur ) and a minimum reserve of 1 Million Euro must be obtained at all time.
Restrictions and Taxation of GGR
The new frame work contains a modest 12% of Tax on GGR, Gross Gaming Revenue. Also, only Licensed Operators and advertisers based in Brazil can obtain a license. Payment methods are limited and Cryptocurrencies, Credit cards, cash , and Checks are of the table to use.
Credit card bans in gaming are coming more and more into the limelight. Latest credit card initiatives in Germany and the Nordic states have shown great progress.
It is to note that Brazil still imposes a strong stand on land-based casinos. Those in question are illegal. Any company operating without a license is deemed illegal and can face hefty fines, closure, and a block of the website.
