Legal framework in Turkey for games of chance
The legal frame work for games of chances in Turkey is strict, and authorized by the watchful eyes of the state itself. In other words, gambling is pretty much prohibited, unless an operator has passed hurdles which include Responsible gambling, Anti-Money-Laundering rules, obtain a license, age verification.
Turkey has drafted a very detailed Turkish penal code under article 228. In combination with several other laws, such as the Law on Regulation of Publications on the Internet and the Fight Against Crimes Committed Via Internet Broadcasting, and amendments for the regulation of sports competitions.
Do's and Don't's in Turkey
The Do’s and Don’t’ in Turkey are thinly laid out for a very few operators only. From a legal age of 18 + players could participate in one of the state-authorized national lottery (Milli Piyango Idaresi) sports betting authorities (por Toto Teşkilatı) , ,limited by the state.
Turkey has put a stop on:
- Since 1998, land-based or privately owned casinos are prohibited from operating on Turkish soil.
- Online casinos offering the games of chance, such as slots, bingo, poker tables, blackjack, either in Turkey or providing online sources to players outsides from Turkey are prohibited.

- monetary fees, Jail time up to 5 years for operators without authorisation
- Allowing access outside of Turkey or via the internet carries a maximum jail time of up0 to 6 years
- Blocking of Websites, domains, and site restrictions
- Gaming advertisement is also prohibited

Offering any betting or gaming service to residents in Turkey has to be authorized by the state authorities!
Any operator is by law illegal and can face penalties, and charges against the company and individuals.
